Put the bandade where it hurts
MORE THAN A MIRROR
IMAGE
We face it first thing in the morning...sometimes it can set our mood. Oh that haunting reflection in the mirror, who is she? She invaded my body in the night! So, what do you see in the mirror? Our image matters! 1. Our image matters to us. 2. Our image matters to God. 3. Our image matters to others and 4. Others' images matter to us. A scriptural look at our images.
THREE LITTLE WORDS There is so much force within words...words like whisper, breezy, crackle- they carry power in just their sound. When someone told me they had a total change in attitude because of three little words, I was curious. Now I have found many incredible combinations of words that can make a world of difference. God whispers in the breeze those words that are not harsh to our ears, but a delicate invitation to come before Him in joy and awe.
DASHING HERE, DASHING THERE, IS MY DASH GOING ANYWHERE? With all of the conveniences that make our lives easier, why are we are so often in a hurry? Many of us seldom get to sit and read a good book, or enjoy puttering around the house or yard. We are dashing through the snow, the rain, the sunshine, but not always laughing all the way as the song would suggest. But I have a message for you. What I want you to know is : 1.your dash is personalized by God, but 2. life circumstances change your dash and, 3. your dash is making you grow in one direction or another, plus 4. your dash affects others, 5. and with your dash comes responsibility. Through choices we face regularly, we determine the worth of our dash. This is a program aimed at looking around, looking inward and looking ahead at spending our dash.
A MEDAL AROUND HIS NECK This program is the inspiration of my special needs nephew, Josh. Along with so many who have encountered this rare spirit, I have been touched forever by his life. This moving story has been published by Zondervan Press in SUNSHINE KISSES FOR TEACHERS and is a tremendous instrument in helping others understand the power of someone able to live in wonder, awe and unconditional love. Along with Josh's story I share some other stirring moments that can help us look deep within to release us from our own disabilities. This is an appropriate presentation for school assemblies, teachers and parent groups as well as church youth programs.
WHAT’S A MOTHER TO DO? A little child shall lead them, and so will a big child and an adult child! Phyllis shares lessons from mothers who have felt the pressure of what to do through the stages of their children’s lives. Appreciating the mother of Jesus, she is used as an example of dignity in the midst of fear, bewilderment and trust. Join her on the ledge of faith to see what a mother’s to do.
TEAMING UP THE TEMPERAMENTS Lucy and Ethel, Bert and Ernie,
Tim and Al. Television personalities with opposite temperaments who were all
hits as teams. Whether peaceful, playful, powerful or particular we are thrown
together daily at home, work, school and play.
THE MYSTERY OF YOUR HISTORY "Hey, I was just made this way, I can’t help it!" Hey, you’re right! You were born with certain personality traits, some strong some weak. For you some things just come naturally. When we understand ourselves and learn the mystery of the other personalities we become more tolerant of those around us. This fun and fast paced program will open your eyes to seeing emotional needs in the people around you, as well as identifying your own. What a difference it can make in our lives to see we aren’t made the same- what fun. A great topic for teens, college groups, women’s groups , workshops and banquets.
